The Bank's shareholders paid a working visit to Ukraine

On February, 4-5, 2021, the Bank's shareholder, Mr Hüseyin ALTINBASH, and an independent member of the Bank's Supervisory Board, Mr Koray AKKUSH, visited Ukraine. During the visit, they held a number of working meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian government.

In particular, they held talks with the CEO of Ukraine Invest, Serhiy Tsyvkach. This organisation, established by the Ukrainian government, is responsible for attracting investment to the country and creating a favourable investment climate. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for attracting Turkish capital to the Ukrainian market. They also discussed the development of Turkish-Ukrainian relations.

In addition, Mr Altınbas, Mr Akkus and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Bank Igor Tykhonov met the Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Taras Kachka. The key topic of this conversation was the development of trade relations between Turkey and Ukraine, as well as investment projects.

On Friday, 5 February, the Bank's representatives, Mr Altınbas and Mr Akkus, met Ismet Yazıcı, CEO of Lifecell, a telecommunications company 100% owned by Turkcell.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of the Ukrainian market, as well as the specifics of the operation and current issues faced by Turkish capital in Ukraine.

As a result of the visit, a strategic decision was made to create a platform on the basis of the Bank to develop economic ties between Turkish and Ukrainian businesses.

This platform will include several areas: support for export and import operations between the two countries. Selection of investment projects in Ukraine, both at the national level and in the regions. Investment project support at all levels, including credit and documentary support. Selection of infrastructure projects financed by the Ukrainian government and regional authorities. Support and assistance to Turkish contractors for participation in tenders, provision of guarantees and counter-guarantees, as well as other areas.

The first Turkish bank in Ukraine is actively involved in supporting Ukraine and the country's economic growth.
